The short version. When you enrol you’re agreeing to these terms and to our Student Handbook, which we give you before you pay. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply. If we ever cancel a course, you’re refunded for any training we haven’t delivered. Full details — fees, refunds, support, complaints — are in your Student Handbook and enrolment agreement.
1. About these terms and your agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Prepare Training website and your enrolment in our training. By enrolling in a course or using this website, you agree to these Terms and to our Student Handbook.
Your full student terms — including fees, refunds, withdrawal, support, conduct and complaints — are set out in our Student Handbook and in the enrolment agreement we give you in writing before you enrol or pay anything. Where your enrolment agreement covers a specific matter (such as your fees), it applies to that matter.
Nothing in these Terms, our Student Handbook or your enrolment agreement limits or removes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (see clause 5).
2. Who we are
We are a Registered Training Organisation delivering nationally recognised building and construction qualifications and work health and safety training online across Australia.

3. Enrolment and your course
We will give you written information about your course, fees and obligations — in your enrolment agreement and Student Handbook — before you enrol or pay anything.
By enrolling, you confirm that the information you give us is true and complete, and that you have read and accept the Student Handbook.
Unique Student Identifier (USI). You will need a verified USI. By law we cannot issue your qualification or Statement of Attainment without one. The process is explained in your Student Handbook.
4. Fees and refunds
The fees for your course are set out in your enrolment agreement before you pay. We will not ask you for payments that were not disclosed to you in advance.
Refunds and cancellation are handled under our Student Handbook. In summary:
- If we cancel a course or cannot deliver it, you receive a refund for any training not yet delivered, and where possible we will offer you an equivalent course.
- We do not provide cash refunds for a change of mind. Instead, we will work with you on options such as pausing, extending, transferring or crediting your enrolment.
- We always consider genuine extenuating circumstances on their merits.
Your Australian Consumer Law rights are not affected by our refund approach — see clause 5. Where the ACL entitles you to a remedy (including a refund), that applies regardless of the above.
5. Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law — including that our training and assessment will be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time.
If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy. For a major failure you may cancel your enrolment and obtain a refund for the unused portion, or seek compensation for any drop in value. These rights apply in addition to anything in clause 4 or our Student Handbook.
6. Website use and intellectual property
The content on our website and in our courses (text, images, learning materials, logos and design) is owned by or licensed to Prepare Training and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce, share or distribute it without our permission, except as allowed by law.
You must use our website and learning system lawfully and only for your own study. Keep your login secure, do not share your account, and do not attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems.
Our website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
7. Course outcomes and licensing
Our training helps you work toward a nationally recognised qualification. We do not guarantee any particular employment outcome or that you will obtain a licence. A qualification is generally a step toward a licence, not the licence itself — licensing is decided by the relevant State or Territory authority (for example the QBCC in Queensland) and depends on your individual circumstances. Please confirm current requirements with the relevant authority.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law or any other rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to the above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with your course or these Terms is limited to the fees you have paid us for the relevant course.
9. Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. See our Privacy Policy.
As an RTO, we are required by law to report your data to the National VET Data Collection (NCVER) and may disclose it to ASQA, the USI Registrar and Commonwealth and State and Territory training authorities. This is explained in full in your Student Handbook and Privacy Policy.
10. Complaints and appeals
We have a complaints and appeals process set out in our Student Handbook. You can raise a concern with us at any time, and you can ask for a decision to be reviewed by an independent party at no, or low, cost. You will not be disadvantaged for raising a concern.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. This does not affect any right you have to seek consumer protection in your own State or Territory.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date, and we will tell you about changes that materially affect your current enrolment as soon as practicable.
