Overview of the Diploma of Work Health & Safety – BSB51319

The Diploma of Work Health & Safety is a nationally recognised qualification that can be completed in 12-18 months on the Gold Coast or online. It is designed for those who want to pursue a career in health and safety within the construction industry or any other industry where the application of the WHS Act and Regulation 2011 is relevant.

What will I learn during the course?

During the Diploma of Work Health & Safety, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of work health and safety principles. At the end of this course, you will have the ability to develop and manage WHS processes and procedures for safe work on your site, manage risks, investigate incidents, and more.

  • Face to Face
  • Distance learning (Self Paced)
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (Using your current skills and experience)
  • Combination of face to face and distance learning (Work at your own pace at home and then drop in for face to face learning when you need a little more guidance)

Eligibility requirements:

There are no prerequisite qualifications to commence this course however it is recommended that candidates hold a minimum of 4 years construction experience and a minimum year 10 education level

The Diploma of Work Health & Safety can lead to various job titles including but not limited to Work Health & Safety Coordinator or Manager, Senior Work HEalth & Safety Advisor, WHS Manager, and more.
